Position Overview
We seek enthusiastic and driven individuals to join our team as an Insurance Producer. This is an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates as well as experienced professionals who are personable, ambitious, and eager to build a successful career in sales with the unique ability to earn renewable annual income.
Who You Are
As a Producer, you’ll screen leads and conduct client and prospect meetings to determine if GSM Insurors fits their needs. This sales-oriented position requires advanced communication skills and a thorough knowledge of insurance products available through GSM Insurors. You’ll use your skills, outgoing personality, and competitive nature to stay current on the latest trends and products to serve our customers best and meet goals.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Employee Benefits Account Manager
Location: Rockport, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time
GSM Insurors, one of Texas’s leading independent insurance agencies, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Employee Benefits Account Manager. As an Account Manager, you will manage and grow a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, provide exceptional customer service, and ensure client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for employee benefits customers
- Oversee assigned accounts and manage client relationships
- Lead the gathering of census data for the renewal process and quote preparation
- Review and analyze client and policy information for Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation
- Present findings and recommendations to the Producer
- Review client certificates of coverage and policy materials for accuracy
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare-related changes
- Conduct client consultations and enrollment meetings, either on-site or at client locations
- Research and resolve participant-related issues
- Oversee internal invoicing processes
- Communicate customer plan administration documentation requirements
- Ensure the policy renewal process is managed effectively for assigned account
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in the insurance, healthcare, or human resources field, or a Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year related business experience
- Position handles 75 accounts with average annualized commissions per customer between $3,000 and $5,000
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
- Active insurance license in the state of Texas: Life, Accident, Health and HMO or attainment within 90 days of employment

This role performs a wide range of duties across planning, education, research and analysis for both existing and prospective clients. - Cultivate strong relationships with – and serve as the main point of contact for your portfolio of clients, key vendors, and carriers.
- Respond to clients, insurance carriers, sales team, and supervisors’ correspondences and requests in a timely, effective, and professional manner.
- Research and present answers to client questions about their policies and coverage.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on carrier products, guidelines, underwriting, and legislative changes in order to make effective recommendations to clients.
- Analyze and compare current exposures to develop renewal or new business specs for marketing.
- Process and submit new and renewal clients for marketing and placement, review and summarize quotes for competitiveness and accuracy, and negotiate rates when appropriate.
- Prepare proposals with the help of the sales team for client presentations.
- Execute accurate invoicing and financing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Process and check policies, endorsements, endorsement requests, and audits for accuracy.
- Manage, submit, and follow-up with claims throughout the claims process.
- Prepare and manage timetables, summaries and/or schedules for the entire book of business with regard to coverage, renewals, deliverables, and marketing strategy.
